I. Objectives
Based on international cooperation results on IT's, carried out between Mexico and France
within the LAFMI framework, as well as the cooperation background with Spain and Germany;
LAEMI will promote now a pilot cooperation scheme between Mexico and these European countries,
which could also be added the Great Britain.
The overall objectives to achieve within the LAEMI international cooperation framework,
can be summarized as to:
a. Create and consolidate networks of excellence
b. Enhance quality in the training of specialized human resources
c. Encourage the creation of consortia for innovation
In its pilot phase, the project will have the specific objectives described below:
- Spread out the LAFMI cooperation model to a pilot cooperation between Mexico and other European countries in order to promote the presentation of project proposals for 7FP
- Incorporate, at least, two new European countries to the cooperation framework, besides France
- Extend cooperation themes and align them to the interests of Mexico in relation to 7FP challenges
- Promote and organize scientific, technological and industrial cooperation on IT's, between Mexico and European countries involved
- Encourage the creation of a virtual laboratory between Mexico and Europe with larger scope and impact than the previous one
LAEMI proposes next statements as its main duties:
- Promote the implementation of projects between Mexico and Europe
- Support thematic networks of excellence between Mexico and Europe
- Introduce innovation concept into Mexican companies and promote the formation of consortia in order to present project proposals on IT's for 7FP
- Maintain coordination and management cooperation on IT's between Mexico and the participant countries
- Boost the training of specialized human resources and the creation of doctoral programs in cooperation
